Position Overview:

Due Diligence underwriting activities may vary by review scope across the various service line offerings of SitusAMC (legacy compliance, credit, credit & compliance, title, collection comments, pay history, data, forensic, consumer, etc.); however, generally, this position will have activities including (i) the identification of the proper documentation for data capture, (ii) the capture of such information within a SitusAMC system or other designated area (including a client system), (iii) running embedded rules and logic against such information, and (iv) clearing validations and/or applying exceptions that may be appropriate for the item in question.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review loan packages, underwriting guidelines, or data files to identify the documentation necessary for the review

  • Capture required information from such information (which may include bookmarking the relevant pages where such information can be located) in a designated place which will usually be an AMC or client designated system

  • Run system logic against information captured and handle any exceptions that may come from the application of this logic against the data captured

  • Apply exceptions and handle validations where necessary to ensure a complete and accurate review

  • Elevate questions to the UWQs email group when such items arise

  • Identify problems with files and/or job notes to the AVP, TM and/or CSM overseeing your engagement

  • Ensure a full and accurate review

  • Accurate tracking of the time spent on reviews

  • Knowledgeable of the principals and compliance regulations and documentation applicable to mortgage lending

  • Interpretation and validation of income, assets and liability documentation to support

  • underwriting decision

  • Review appraisal to support value and all other real estate owned

  • Familiarity with fraudulent red flags and outside services used to determine or verify fraud

  • Ability to read and evaluate payment histories and servicing comments

  • Ability to meet production quality and service standards

  • Such other activities as may be assigned by your manager

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Mortgage Banking preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • At least three recent years underwriting/due diligence/secondary market and preferred fraud investigative reviews

  • Self-motivated and reliable

  • Excellent PC skills and possess high level of proficiency in Microsoft products

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Analytical ability and good judgment

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Demonstrate professional behavior and teamwork, punctual, dependable and adhere to company policies and procedures

Special Requirements:

  • The employee may be required to report to a different local office as a normal, contemplated, and mandated incident of their employment

  • Maintenance of a safe and professional home work environment

  • Appropriate IT set-up including dual monitors and appropriate computer system

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with frequent computer use

  • Sitting for long periods of time

  • Hearing, talking, reaching, grasping, standing, and repetitive motions

The pay range for this role is $27 to $30 per hour. SAMC offers a PTO program and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the Employee Handbook. SAMC reserves the right to amend or terminate its PTO program or its paid holiday policy at any time. Actual compensation offered is subject to several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, licensure, certification, and market demands.
